Internships » Emanuel Akwiwu
Date of internship
September – October 2006
Why did you come to Eastside?
Having secured a job offer with Shell despite my limited work experience, I felt the necessity to seek out internship opportunities outside the legal industry (Emanuel is a qualified lawyer) that would increase my commercial awareness and challenge me to increase my knowledge and capabilities. Eastside’s business services and its size appealed to me because I knew that it would afford me the opportunity to participate in, and eventually assume responsibility for exciting task and projects.
Highlights of the internship
The internship at Eastside increased my confidence and capabilities because of the wide range of tasks I had to perform, such as client enquiries, preparing case studies for clients, drafting a non-disclosure agreement, compiling the October newsletter and conducting diagnostics. However, above all of these highlights was the opportunity I had to interact with Eastside’s pool of consultants, interns, clients and associates. I was ably supported by the Eastside team, and felt free to share concerns and give feedback on internal and external issues.
